Daryl

Hi, I'm Daryl, a 31 year old female tutor based in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
I am currently a student primary teacher and have many years of experience in tutoring English and Maths to primary aged children.
My rate is £25 per hour to work in your home.

Tutoring Experience

I have been working in schools for the past 4 years now in a variety of roles, while studying at home to gain my Honours Degree in Childhood and Youth studies.
I have worked as an additional support needs assistant where I worked on a one to one basis with pupils aged 11-17. Each of these pupils has individual needs which I ensured were met, ranging from physical disabilities to learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties. This was an extremely rewarding position which has increased my abilities as a totur tenfold. This was an opportunity which really honed my skills for individually tailored education which meets the needs of individual children.

I also used to work as a home link assistant in a local secondary school and it's feeder primaries, where I had a caseload of pupils and families who I would help to access education and overcome barriers to education.
My qualifications mean that I am very capable in developing children's literacy and numeracy skills and encourage them to engage with and attain through education. I am currently a student primary school teacher and will be a qualified teacher by May 2024. I am very comfortable and confident in teaching and tutoring all areas of the curriculum to primary aged children and will have individually tailored lessons planned ahead of time for your children.

Tutoring Approach

My passion is making education fun, challenging and attainable. Each lesson will be structured around the needs of your children and will challenge them to attain at their level.
I love to use a range of pedagogical approaches which keeps the lessons fun and engaging, meaning that your children will continue to learn and attain at appropriate levels.
Whatever area of the curriculum your child requires support with will be tailored to.
