I am a recent university graduate with an immense love of learning and a passion for sparking the same joy in others.
I also believe that for those who don't enjoy school, topics they are struggling with can become a barrier to them enjoying other aspects of life, and I want to minimise this hurdle. This is my aim as a tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I am new to officially tutoring but have many years of experience helping my peers and would run study sessions with those new to my course while at university. While at sixth form, I used to run a philosophical discussions club at lunchtimes with a view to improving mine and others' arguments (working toward a philosophy A level). I have also volunteered in my primary school to support Key Stage 1 children who were struggling with reading and spelling.

Additionally, I have experience working with children (from primary school age up to year 9). I have helped to run kids' clubs at my church, and have helped many children with homework over my years of babysitting.

Tutoring Approach

I focus on a goal-oriented approach. Some students want to study towards an exam, achieve a particular grade or move into a higher set, whilst others need help to understand a particular topic or to complete homework.

My aim in every case is to equip each student with the tools they need to reach their highest potential. This will look different for different people.
For this reason, I offer a discounted first session to meet the student (and parents, if wanted) and establish what goals you want to achieve. As everyone learns differently, this session gives me an idea of how I can best support each of my pupils.
We can then work together to achieve the goals set out.

I offer tuition in all subjects I am sufficiently qualified in and am confident to teach. My differing prices reflect the research that will need to go in to different subjects in order to provide the best quality guidance.
