Current Head of English for a successful private school in North London with six years experience teaching secondary students of all backgrounds and abilities, including SEND and EAL. I am an avid reader with a passion for theatre, creative writing, poetry and history.

Tutoring Experience

I have 6 years teaching at various levels, most recently as Head of English.
In 2022, my English class results were 88% 7-9, while my private tutees all achieved 7-9. I have been a tutor for the last four years, tutoring students in the UK and China. My tutoring experience has included weekly, fortnightly and half term intensive sessions for students of all abilities. Experience of both GCSE and iGCSE across a range of exam boards, though most experience with AQA Language and Literature.

Tutoring Approach

I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who takes a discussion and collaborative approach to online tutoring. I work to build student confidence around GCSEs by breaking down exam papers into clear methods and outline students can follow to achieve their full potential. Learning with me, students will develop a wealth of approaches to the exams and master timings as well as ways of answering questions to reach the 'perceptive' qualities that the exam board are looking for for Grade 9.
