I am an engaging primary school teacher, who graduated with a PGCE from the University of Southampton. Constantly ensuring I am up-to-date with the latest findings in teaching pedagogy, I have a passion for teaching and currently have my own Year 6 class, whilst also being a Mathematics leader for my school. In my free time, I play a range of sports, such as kayaking and volunteer for a few local charities.
I am a primary school teacher who specializes in Upper KS2, but I also have tutoring experience at a private tutoring centre for the last 3 years to children aged 4-16. Therefore, I have had frequent training on the National Curriculum for both Maths and English. I have specialized in both English and Maths and also 11+ classes so can also teach verbal reasoning. A few years ago, I was the head of sports at a summer school in Brighton and have led trips for children around the UK.
My teaching approach is very individualized to the pupil as I appreciate that every student learns in a different way. I believe that children need to find learning engaging but aim to instill a passion for education. Overall, my aim is make sure that every child has the tools and resources to reach their potential and excel. I typically use a range of activities, mindmaps, audio resources and more active kinesthetic techniques, depending on the age and subject.
