Having graduated from Edinburgh University with a BSc in Science, Colette started her working life in the pharmaceutical industry. During this time, Colette became increasingly involved with teaching young people and developing their skills.
I have some sessions available daytime Monday and Tuesday, evening Thursday and Friday and afternoons Saturday and Sunday. 1-2pm.
Subsequently, Colette took her professional teaching qualifications and started her new career as a teacher of Chemistry in 2006 and worked at an outstanding girls school in St Albans for 4 years followed by 8 years at a top selective private school. Her popularity as a teacher and immense managerial experience led to Colette moving on quickly to become deputy head of Science. With the introduction of the new GCSE and A Level curriculum, Colette has ensured that she has kept up to date developing her GCSE and A level knowledge.
A passionate educator, Colettes greatest enjoyment is putting the wow back into pupils learning. Keen to develop students conceptual understanding, Colette is a practical Chemist, using resources to enhance explanations and focusing on investigative, open ended techniques, where applicable. Colette is experienced in teaching students from Year 7 all the way to Year 13.
