I enjoy learning new skills and being challenged. I enjoy long distance running, cooking, travel and spending time quality time with family and friends. I am originally from Australia although Norwich is my second home; I've lived here since 2012 and love it.
I began my teaching career in Australia in 2006. Academically, I have worked hard to achieve great results which I am proud of. For my undergraduate degree, I was awarded the Dean's Commendation for Outstanding Achievement. I have spent 2 years working in Norfolk schools, with a focus on Lower Key Stage 2. I have experience teaching Years 1-4. I have experience teaching diverse learners, especially EAL and SEND.
After learning about a pupil, I will create a strategy of how we will achieve whatever learning goal we have. Meaningful learning is at the core of my teaching approach. I have many strategies that I can implement in order to suit the learners need and will often give direct feedback. I am happy to liaise with a class teacher to gain information around teaching strategies for fluidity between school learning and tutor support.
