I took around 20 lessons with Claire while working towards my DELF B2 exam. She was a super tutor during this time - very knowledgeable, flexible to my needs, and always cheerful and friendly. Claire catered each lesson to areas I needed to work on, and allowed me to build confidence to make sure I was ready for the exam.

Can't recommend highly enough. My child looks forward to these fun sessions which are topic based and include listening / writing/ reading/ speaking and weekly homework too. Claire is a wonderful tutor. Each lesson is tailored to what I want to work on, which she asks me on a weekly basis in order to help guide our lessons as to how I would most prefer them. She spends time preparing for the class, which is evident in the broad range of worksheets and exercises developed to help practice everyday conversation and grammar. My daughter has recently started learning Spanish with Claire, and how lucky we are to have found such a professional tutor. I'm trying to turn a reasonable amount of basic French vocabulary into something more coherent and be able to converse with locals when travelling to France. Sessions with Claire have been incredibly helpful in building confidence and knowledge of the language. They are informative but relaxed and I'd certainly recommend Claire to others.

Claire has been a fantastic support for my sons GCSE French. She spent time organising the lesson beforehand and focussed on the areas we needed help in the most. This was mainly with the Speaking and Writing parts of the exam. She was patient and engaging and has helped my son achieve a Grade 9! I started studying Spanish with Claire in January. She's an excellent teacher. She's so knowledgeable about the language: she can answer any obscure question about grammar I throw at her, but more importantly she knows how Spanish is actually spoken in real life e.g. the differences between how it's spoken in Spain vs Latin America, or how people commonly phrase things (as opposed to the formal phrases you usually learn in books). She's also really encouraging (I'm shy at speaking) and patient when I ask her the same questions over and over again! She's such a good teacher that I started doing French with her as well and have recommended her to lots of friends. Thanks Claire :)

Very poor communication. Had to cancel before first lesson. Totally understand if it was an emergency but given the events, did not appear like it was one.

Hi Kranthi,
I didn’t cancel. I was running a little late home from work due to an unexpected circumstance and politely asked to postpone by a half hour or hour, also offered lots of other time options or days, and apologised. I find that it was a little bit extreme (and rather rude) for you to then say you wanted to cancel the whole arrangement, say that I was a liar and then block me before I had chance to send a polite response back. Furthermore,
when we were talking on First Tutors before details exchanged, I explained that Mondays at 11am could not be guaranteed and may sometimes have to change due to me having to go in to work on Monday mornings and you said that was fine.

I have lots of very good reviews from very happy students and I’m an excellent teacher. I think you are quite demanding and I am a relaxed, friendly, flexible tutor who respects my students and has a great relationship with them and lots of communication. These are the kind students I love to work with - it is a joy.

I’ve been having Spanish with Claire for the past two months and I have to say she’s brilliant!! Very professional and patient and not at all patronising if you forget things or get things wrong. (Which I often do) she always goes out her way to make you feel comfortable and work at a pace that suits you. Claire always makes lessons fun by bringing in a mixture or reading, writing and role play.
