I qualified as a French and Spanish teacher in the UK and I have 12 years of teaching experience in the UK and abroad, in both schools and private tutoring. I have lived in France and Spain and also worked in French and Spanish business environments and so I have knowledge of the languages in the “real” world. I have a criminal records check for your peace of mind.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in the UK and in Spain with experience teaching students from 3 to 75 years old. I have taught in secondary schools in the UK, a private school in Spain and private tutoring both face to face and online. I have extensive experience working with GCSE and A Level students of French and Spanish, helping some to achieve the highest grade, and others to build their confidence enough to achieve a pass when they were struggling. I am very familiar with the structure and syllabus for the exams and what is required to achieve each grade. I also have experience with adult learners working towards French DELF exams or Spanish DELE exams, as well as those learning for conversational, business or leisure purposes. I also have experience with younger children and I provide all resources.

Tutoring Approach

I offer a wide range of resources for all ages and levels. I like to get to know my students and adapt the learning style and content of the lessons to their needs and interests. I offer friendly, fun and flexible lessons and can set homework if they wish. I incorporate a variety of skills into my lessons, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary. Resources can vary from
PowerPoints to news articles to books to roleplays. I always chat with the student beforehand to find out what they would like to focus on and plan around their needs. I am positive and encouraging with my feedback and corrections, and like my students to feel a sense of achievement and capability and build confidence. Please see my reviews below :)
