Been teaching or tutoring for all but 40 years more or less continuously and have enjoyed it. I specialise in international relations as well as the listed subjects. I enjoy walking, dogs Chelsea FC and my family and my research and I am interested in film and education as well as scholarship and its availability across ability ranges.

Tutoring Experience

All but 40 years from degree work to GCSE and below. PGCE and also been a GP practice counsellor and UCAS form adviser and university choice adviser. Herad of Department in History, History of Art, Government and Politics and RS variously.

Tutoring Approach

Always be approachable. Always be supportive. Always be honest, like a barrister or a doctor be on the students side in their endeavours', be open about syllabuses and standards, be routed in bringing out the best in them, respect their integrity and demonstrate your own, communicate and facilitate them doing so, meet the student where they are at: five minutes discussing football or food or whatever their interests reap dividends in terms of a cooperative working relationship and an enjoyable learning experience.
