I have been very successfully teaching Geography for over 25 years. My GCSE results are in the top 10% nationally. I have been a senior leader in various schools for 15 years and lecture at various teacher training institutions on effective practice.
I have taught GCSE and A Level geography for over 25 years, been a head of Geography in two schools, A Head of Humanities, Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for improving teaching and learning and for improving school-wide exam results. I have been seconded to other schools to help them improve exam results. I have been Deputy Head Teacher in two schools.
In terms of improving exam results, I like to work with the student to understand exactly what they can't do or don't know. I then fix that problem, check that the fix has worked and then identify the next barrier and so on so each session is individually tailored to the needs of the pupil. Over the years I have built up huge amounts of experience in how to explain and have created or acquired many resources to help structure revision and to check understanding. I have a reputation for being entertaining at the same time.
