I am a kind, enthusiastic person and I love to make learning fun and accessible for all. I work hard to ensure that I build a rapport with all children I work with and that their learning can be tailored to their needs and interests. I have worked with a wide range of children of all ages and abilities and have experience working with SEND children. I love to get to know all different children and thrive on seeing them progress and develop.
I have several years of teaching experience and have taught in both KS1 and KS2. I have experience with phonics and so I am well qualified to help children who are just beginning to read and write. I have also worked with older children whose skills have progressed further and have a lot of experience with boosting writing ability. I have a good knowledge of teaching early mathematics and honing skills regarding identifying numbers, number bonds and simple maths skills. I also have experience teaching more complex maths and I am able to break it down into manageable steps for learners.
My teaching approach is make learning fun and engaging for students. In school, there tends to be one preferred way of learning, but this does not suit all children. I like to take time to get to know the child and their needs, and then create a tailored plan that will suit their learning style and will keep them engaged and progressing. I am a naturally cheerful and happy person and so I try to keep session as lighthearted and upbeat as possible. I find that this works well, particularly for children who might not enjoy learning or may not feel confident in their own abilities.
