Online English and French Tuition

Hi there, I'm an Oxford University graduate working in the non-profit sector. I was awarded First Class Honours from a BA in Philosophy and French at Oxford as well as a Distinction in my research Master's (MPhil) in Modern Middle Eastern Studies (Political Science, History, Advanced Arabic). I'm bilingual having grown up speaking both English and French at home in London. I have a passion for literature and culture so I encourage students to deal with genuine texts and videos in order to stimulate a deeper interest in their subject. Alongside French, I offer English, History, Politics, Philosophy, and Arabic tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have previously taught French and Philosophy for First Tutors as well as Hashtag Tuition, helping students overcome difficulties with classwork and cultivating a genuine interest in their studies. I have taught vulnerable and refugee children in several parts of the Middle East, as well as working as an educational content developer for Scholar 6, a pioneering education start-up based in London. Since 2020, I have worked in a variety of roles for NGOs specialised in peace-building and mediation in conflict-affected contexts across the globe.

Tutoring Approach

Learning shouldn't involve the mechanical acquisition of information, vocab or grammar -- it's not interesting or effective. I pay attention to the key needs and interests of each individual tutee before adapting my lesson plans accordingly. My wider appreciation of the subjects I offer means that I am always prepared to use material from a wide range of sources in order to ensure lessons are engaging and productive.
