I am a dedicated, caring, and experienced teacher as well as a passionate linguist with an excellent subject knowledge. I am fully conversant with the GCSE, IGCSE and A Level specifications and I have the ability to teach the IB curriculum. I keep abreast of the latest pedagogical research and practice in Modern Foreign Languages teaching to ensure my lessons are relevant, challenging and engaging. I consistently teach outstanding lessons and I am praised for the positive rapport I build with my students.

Tutoring Experience

I was born and studied in France. My studies were motivated by a passion for languages and a desire to teach them. Being a native speaker of French, I took a degree in English. This enabled me to study the complexities of the French and English languages and literature in detail.
I moved to Wolverhampton, UK, in 2005 and worked as a French Language Assistant in a community school and a grammar school, supporting GCSE and A Level students. I then took a PGCE course (French and Spanish) in 2007 at the University of Birmingham.
I currently work as a French teacher in a private school which was described as excellent by the Independent School Inspectorate, and I have a proven record of consistently teaching outstanding lessons. I am able to teach French (as an additional language as well as for native speakers) and English as an Additional Language, and 100% of the pupils I have taught achieved success in examinations.

Tutoring Approach

I really enjoyed –and keep enjoying – studying and I wish to convey this joy through my lessons so that the pupils’ curiosity keeps on growing.
I am a caring and positive person and have a lively, engaging teaching style. I always vary and personalise activities in order to appeal to the pupils’ different learning styles and I carefully plan lessons to ensure that all, including those with high abilities or special needs, will feel confident and benefit from the lesson’s content. My teaching is very much pupil-centred in order to encourage the students to develop skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom environment. Setting high expectations, I also enjoy questioning the students, inspiring and encouraging them to reflect on aspects of the subject that can keep them curious and engaged. Sensitive and useful feedback is regularly given and the students always have an opportunity to respond to it to further improve or learn from their mistakes.
I make a point of being creative and innovative, often sourcing diverse resources online and updating or adapting them, in order to open the pupils’ minds and nurture their natural interest.
