I am an experienced and fully qualified teacher and tutor of French, German, EFL and Primary English. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years and I am a seasonal examiner for German GCSE writing papers and KS2 Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar SAT papers.

Tutoring Experience

Until last year, I have spent my teaching career working with a combination of teaching in Secondary schools and tutoring outside of school hours. In 2020 I made the decision to leave the Comprehensive school where I had been working for 13 years as a KS3 and GCSE French, German and EFL teacher so that I could concentrate fully on tutoring rather than doing both, so I now tutor exclusively. In 2009 I accepted a contract for marking German GCSE writing papers and I have been doing that ever since which helps enormously which my up-to-date knowledge and understanding of GCSE language exams. This contract led into me being offered another contract as an examiner in 2015 which is for KS2 Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar SAT papers which I have also been doing since. Since this time I have added Primary English to the subjects I teach and I now have a lot of experience in this area. Through my teaching and examining, grammar is very much a specialist area of mine.

Tutoring Approach

I love tutoring and I take great pride in my work and in establishing strong and productive working relationships. Lessons are all about the learner and making sure I understand their needs and goals so that I can help them achieve them. My lessons are fun and varied but challenging and excellent value for money. Students make great progress with me, my track record for results is excellent. I also offer homework and I provide feedback and support to help accelerate learning.
