I graduated from the University of Warwick in Mathematics and Statistics in 2015 with first class honours and then worked as an Engineer in Bristol for 3 years.
Since then, I worked abroad in Russia teaching Maths for 2 years before completing a PGCE in the UK.
I currently work as a Maths teacher at a private school in the UK.

Tutoring Experience

Two years teaching in Russia, working at both state and private schools. During these two years, I tutored privately focusing on preparing students who were sitting entrance examinations for private schools in the UK, as well as working with iGCSE and A level students.
1 year PGCE experience: I worked at schools in Hertfordshire.
2 years teaching in a UK private school, teaching GCSE, A level and IB qualifications.

Tutoring Approach

I specialise in preparing students for school entrance exams and preparing students for A level Mathematics. I am also able to teach Further Mathematics.

I usually work with my students twice weekly (although this is dependent on the needs of the students), and prefer to start lessons sooner in a course, for instance starting lessons earlier in a A level course rather than waiting until very near the exams as in my experience working consistently throughout a course reduces stress for the student and usually leads to a better outcome.

Most of my lessons are online (although I am happy to travel a reasonable distance locally) because it is more convenient for students and for a focussed student it is just as effective. There is also the added benefit of being able to electronically save notes from the lesson. Please see my tutoring materials for examples of how online lessons might look.

I focus on ensuring that students do not come to rely on tuition and lesson time is spent guiding students but simultaneously encouraging them to think for themselves as much as possible. As such, students should expect to spend most of a lesson working through problems as opposed to me lecturing them for the lesson.
