Hello there!
I have been working with children for over 5 years as an Au Pair abroad and now as a qualified English teacher. Prior to that I trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist in the North West.
I am truly passionate about my subject and believe that studying English can help change the world. English allows us to access the world around us, formulate passionate and relevant discussions about important, real life issues and a love of learning to grow from a very young age.
I am a qualified teacher looking to continue to help students through online tutoring whilst I also work full time in a school. I currently teach both KS3 English as well as GCSE English Literature & Language.
I absolutely love to read literature and have read over 30 books last year. I am happy to provide reading recommendations & encouragement to your child as well as online tutoring in both KS3 & KS4 English.
Due to my bachelors degree also being in Counselling & Psychotherapy with Sociology, I would also be willing to tutor in KS4 & KS5 Psychology and Sociology having studied it for 6 years prior to entering teaching.
My studies included psychological theorists, counselling approaches to mental health, person centred approaches, psychodynamic approaches and cognitive behavioural approaches, crime and violence, effects of crime and society.
I am happy to have a 'Get to Know You' session where students and I see if we will be a good fit and figure out how to approach the specific subject they need help with.
Tutoring can help in many ways such as;
- Improving your confidence
- Improving your grades
- Finding a new passion in your subject & new interests
So what are we waiting for? Let's get started and watch them succeed!
I have had both a year 10 tutor class & year 7 tutor class which I have loved getting to know and supporting in their learning throughout all their subjects, as well as growing relationships with their fellow teachers.
I have a very relational approach to teaching & love to get to know my students alongside teaching them. I believe that every student is different and learns in their own individual way.
We will meet online to discuss their passions and struggles within the subject and help formulate a plan on how we can make them as successful as possible. I'd love to know what you want in the future and how I can help them get there.
We will work together to ensure that they learn everything they need to assessments or exams but also have fun along the way!
