Private Online Maths and Physics Tutor

I am a thoughtful, positive individual and I strive to spread this positivity to all my students, in every lesson. I believe a core responsibility of a teacher, is to inspire, provide motivation and help students build a strong and determined mindset. I see it as a priveledge to teach, as it gives me the opportunity to make a real impact on students' lives - this is my inspiration for what I do.

I acheived 4A*'s in A-levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Further Maths. I have a bachelors in Natural sciences at the University of Cambridge, where in my first two years I studied Maths, Materials science and Chemistry alongside Physics (my speciality). This gives me a broad knowledge of science, and a unique ability to link between the sciences. I finished my studies with a Masters in Physics from the University of Cambridge. Since then I have been tutoring full time.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 1000 hours of tutoring experience teaching GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and A-level Maths and Physics. I have helped to write a lecture course for Cambridge admissions in Natural sciences/engineering.
I have always had a passion for teaching and helping others, and would aways be walking around my classes during GCSE's and A-levels alongside the teacher!

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to open students eyes to what science really is, and rekindle a child-like curiousity for how the world works.

I am passionate about giving my students a strong, deep understanding of topics, teaching how and why things happen, and encouraging students to visualualize every problem. Too often I find students are taught at school to memorize everything - this is not how Maths or sciences should be learnt. I believe that it's not only so much easier to remember things when we know how they work, but it also makes learning the next step far easier. This is why so many students with strong GCSE results struggle so much with A level Physics - they haven't built the correct models of understanding perviously.

Of course, the right approach to teaching varies with student, as well as proximity to exams, and I adapt my teaching style to be most effective for each student.

All my teaching is done online through google meet, and an interactive whiteboard.
