I'm energetic and like to constantly challenge myself. I enjoy fitness such as yoga, crossfit and running. I live in rural Hampshire in an old farmhouse where I work from a converted shepherds hut.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a seminar leader at the University of Southampton where I was responsible for delivering quality face-to-face education for Year 2 and 3 undergraduate students on various English modules. I facilitated class and student discussions while carrying out the aims and objectives of the course. This role included undertaking all necessary administration, such as attendance and reporting. I was required to mark essays and provide detailed feedback and assistance to students. I have also provided creative writing workshops to secondary age students, as well as helped primary school children with reading skills.

Tutoring Approach

I am a flexible teacher, who takes the time to think about the different learning styles of individual students. I believe in utilising as many different resources and methods as possible such as online presentation tools like prezi (here are some previous presentations: https://prezi.com/user/o9ooeum5vspk/), video links and debates. I like to balance the wider cultural concerns of a text with close readings which focus on how language used can create patterns and meanings.
