I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor in a range of areas within music. I graduated in 2015 with a 1st-class music degree from Oxford and have since been freelancing as a music producer, composer and tutor. Since moving to London I have trained in Music Production at Abbey Road, and have worked on albums for Decca with Gareth Malone, James MacMillan, Craig Armstrong and others. My specialist areas are music theory and aural training - I am partially blind which means that I have had to develop my musical ear in a unique way, and my skills can be applied to learning about a variety of genres: classical, jazz, pop and a cappella. I am passionate about sharing my enthusiasm and understanding of music!
1 year as a private tutor in music theory, piano, GCSE/AS/A Level music
Conducted workshops in schools and universities around the world (total c.25000 students) as part of my role as MD of the a cappella group 'Out of the Blue'
I take time to get to know each pupil individually and how they operate before embarking on any teaching. I am patient, encouraging and sensitive to any difficulties the pupil may face. I prefer to taylor my teaching methods and manner according to the individual which results in a good personal relationship conducive to productive learning.
