Hello everyone!
Since leaving university, I have dedicated myself to education as I truly believe learning helps young people be who they want to be. I love to teach maths and geography, and I am looking forward to developing as a tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching geography for 3 years and have had other roles within education previously. I am currently teaching geography in a comprehensive inner London school up to GCSE level. I have always taught to mixed-ability classes, 1 to 1 as well as whole class, with varying needs. I have experience in developing students knowledge and understanding of content of a range of exam specifications, as well as developing exam skills.
Previously, I have taught English as an Additional Language (EAL) within the whole curriculum and have experience in teaching across a wide range of subjects. I have developed a unique skill in supporting students literacy in general as well as geography-based.
I successfully graduated from the university number 1 globally for International Development, and would consider myself a human geography but equally love teaching physical geography.
I have previously worked as a teaching assistant, again, this means I have experience in tailoring teaching to the students needs so they can make progress.

Tutoring Approach

I do not try to be 'a strict tutor', I am a caring person who sees potential in every student. I use communication and the right scaffolding to provide the best structure to help students reach their goals. I get to know students as individuals, so I can help them learn better. I will listen to you and the student to identify knowledge gaps and specific needs. I will also help students will exam technique as this is also a major part of the exam process.
