Former Head Teacher, Curriculum Lead, and Maths Teacher, now offering tutoring and mentoring.
I'm a former head teacher of the World Class Academy (an international travelling secondary school), a graduate of Warwick Business School and the University of Southampton, and an experienced classroom teacher. I now offer one to one and small group tutoring, as well as mentoring for University students, from my home in Exeter, UK.
I teach KS3, KS4, and A level, including Mechanics, Statistics, and Pure, and the IB.
I love teaching and adventure sports - in my free time I'm an avid kitesurfer and amateur paragliding pilot, and am lucky enough to live close to both here in the South Downs.
I have 15 years experience in the classroom as a teacher and ultimately headteacher. I've taught from KS3 - KS5, including further maths at A level, and the International Baccalaureate.
Additionally I have worked as an engineering project manager, which gives me a useful insight into work and life outside of teaching.
I recognise that the mastery of mathematics requires a uniquely consistent foundation, and help students identify gaps in that foundation before attempting to build on their knowledge.
Working this way, students leave every lesson confident in everything they've learned so far, and with the knowledge that they can apply themselves to new and unfamiliar subject matter.
I appreciate the pressure that looming exams present, but my tuition will always focus on long term performance over handy exam shortcuts, which ultimately leads to better results.
