Hi Im Beatrice and I have a Masters in Biochemistry (First Class Honours).
After graduating I have worked in the Biotechnology industry as part of the Research and Development part of the company and in academic research at the Francis Crick Institute, supervised by a Nobel-Prize winner.
I achieved A*AA at A-level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths respectively.
I believe I have a good insight into the current GCSE and A-level syllabus and exam structure, and have been taught great exam techniques from my previous tutors.
Studying Biochemistry has been helpful to further my understanding of the concepts I learnt at A-level and so it has become easier for me to explain these subjects, be it genetics; protein structure and function; DNA; cellular processes, and other aspects of chemistry like thermodynamics; bonding; physical properties of elements; organic and inorganic chemistry.
I have taught many students up to undergraduate level. I have also been a teaching assistant in my old school over one summer.
Lessons would usually be 1-2 hours per week, and would involve going through the syllabus, ensuring the student understands concepts. Also doing exam questions specific to the topic to ensure students know how to answer the questions to get the total marks available.
