Online Maths Lessons

My name’s Babak, I’m 38 and based in London, England.

I decided to become a tutor to help young people fulfil their academic potential and ace their exams.

As a tutor, I champion patience, personability, compassion and dedication. I always keep lessons fun and engaging.

Tutoring Experience

I have accrued over 1500 tutoring hours thus far. I specialise in teaching Maths, up to GCSE level. I also prepare students for English, Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning assessments for the various entrance exams. I also have experience in preparing students for the Westminster Challenge.

I am also experienced in teaching students SEN, including ADHD and dyscalculia. I employ various teaching styles to optimise these lessons.

The vast majority of my tutees have attained a Level 8 or 9 in their GCSE/IGCSE exams, and have been accepted into their first school of choice.

Tutoring Approach

The first objective is to prepare strategic, personalised timeline, prioritising topics of most concern. Each topic is mastered through teaching theory in steps, and reinforcing it with practice drills and exam style questions, building up in difficulty, thus developing technique. Topics are revisited periodically to cement knowledge. Through the use of revision worksheets, and the assessment of results in school work, weaker areas are consistently identified, prioritised and practiced further. Having attending Westminster School myself, I am well-versed on the requirements for top-level exam technique.

When not preparing for entrance exams, topics outside of the syllabus framework can be explored. Olympiad and UKMT style problem solving questions may be practiced.
