Tutoring Experience
I have taught in grammar schools and currently teach in a high-attaining comprehensive in Oldham. Over the last seven years, my pupils have obtained progress levels, exceeding their starting point. Notably, the GCSE cohort of 2022 obtained +0.7 progress in English Language and Literature. I have also marked the AQA GCSE English Language and Literature summer exam series.
Tutoring Approach
I have an expert understanding in grammar, building pupils' confidence in not only the knowledge but also the ability to transform that knowledge into writing. Often English can be a daunting subject for pupils, but through guided practice in writing, all pupils can express themselves with sophistication.
