I’m a very passionate energetic person with very strong beliefs in the importance of equality and justice. This passion lends itself well to the teaching of social science subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I am in Assistant principal at a very recently graded outstanding school and I have taught Sociology for the last 15 years. My post-Covid GCSE results have demonstrated that pupils have achieved on average +1 grade more than their target grade. My A Level results are similar in that all students on average achieve their target grade. I have examined for Aqa in recent years and have been on specific examiner training therefore know the exam requirements very well.

Tutoring Approach

I create good bonds with my students and ensure that they have the confident in themselves to achieve. I ensure they feel my passion for the subject which trickles through to them, subconsciously this passion helps them learn better. As an experienced examiner I make constant reference to exam requirements throughout my lessons. My key tool is to teach my students how the examiner thinks meaning they can replicate the examiners requirements during their exams.
