Having qualified as a Primary School Teacher in 2011, I have experience of teaching across both Key Stage 1 and 2 and preparing students for SATS, 11+ and entrance exams with 100% success rate.

I believe in making learning fun and relatable to each individual and in turn memorable.
I am confident teaching any area of the primary curriculum with a particular specialism in maths.

I’m also passionate about using technology to enhance the teaching and learning process and if possible would place this at the heart of my teaching.

Prior to the tutoring commencing, I believe it is important to talk with the child to find out what makes them tick and from there develop a way of learning that suits them and enables us to achieve the best outcomes.

Although I’m based in Wilmslow, I’m happy to travel and find a time that suits both parties but most importantly find a time where that suits the individual.

Tutoring Experience

Since qualifying I have taught in a range of different environments, working with a range of children with diverse needs. I’ve worked with children with various special educational needs including autism and dyslexia.

I have tutored various children over the years covering various topics including 11+, Entrance exams, SATS and all areas of the primary curriculum.

Tutoring Approach

I believe the child has to be placed at the centre of ithe session. Each child should be treated as an individual and I endeavour to tailor my sessions to each and every child I work with.
In my opinion it’s important for the child to feel comfortable and at ease when working with me and I always aim to get to know the likes and dislikes, hobbies of interests of the children I work with as this allows me to develop sessions that interest them. Where possible I try to build in practical/ hands on activities.

I always try to to make the child understand that it’s okay to get things wrong or say they don’t understand as it’s my job to help them improve and I never expect them to know everything. I’m not here to test them but to help them.
