I am 20 years old, currently pursuing a BSc in Economics and Philosophy at The London School of Economics. I chose this degree due to my keen interest in the functioning of modern society, and how best to shape it for future generations.
From Years 7-13, I studied at the Henrietta Barnett School, attaining A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics and English Literature.
I believe I have strong interpersonal and communication skills, exemplified and enhanced by leadership roles I have undertaken both at school and the LSE.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading and various sports; I am the Vice Captain for my university Netball team and hold a 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. I recently danced in an inter-university show and hope to try my hand at Skiing in the near future.
In the past, I have tutored children for the 11+ examinations. They went on to study at the schools of their choice and, more importantly, became genuinely interested in learning, which nurtured a prolonged commitment to the subjects at hand. I have found that developing a trusting relationship with students is the key to unlocking their potential.
I strongly believe in the importance of making learning relatable and fun, rather than a chore to complete every day. Having struggled myself with sustaining interest in poorly taught subjects at school, I can offer a fresh take on how best to engage students.
I also recognise that some students simply require more discipline and structure in their routines, and can help break down daunting tasks to manageable chunks, having overcome such challenges in recent years myself.
