I am an Oxford University modern languages graduate. I'm a native English speaker and I'm fluent in French and Spanish. I'm an engaging, enthusiastic, passionate, and committed tutor, and I really believe that languages have the power to open up the world, they are becoming more important than ever. I have previously worked at Vogue France in social media and translation, as well as having worked in schools and with NGOs in Latin America. I run my own fashion brand for which I work with Francophone and Hispanic artisans, so speaking French and Spanish is part of my daily life. I like to focus on current affairs, culture, and history - reading the news and engaging in content from Francophone and Hispanic countries is one of the best ways to keep my language skills sharp. In my final year, I specialised in French philosophy and epistolary novels, as well as Latin American indigenous literature and film.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored people from a range of ages and backgrounds, since I was 17 until now, so for 9 years on and off. I have taught people varying from French children who strived to gain fluency in English, to a woman from Kyrgyzstan who wanted to improve her conversational English, and ability to analyse literature. I have also taught Spanish and French to adolescents and helped them with their GCSE, 11+, and A-level exams. I tutored a student for her mock interviews for Oxford this year, and very much enjoy teaching unseen prose and poetry. I have taught online and in person, but I am currently only able to do online classes.

Tutoring Approach

I believe collaborative and engaging learning - as more and more of our world is moving online, it is very important to use my natural and strong instinct to adapt to students' individual learning styles. Because of my academic background and experience with one on one tutors at Oxford, I am able to give rigorous feedback on essays, as well as analyse sample essay questions with them as well as do practice exams, tests and fluency activities. I can also review personal statements and do mock interviews with them. I am able to tutor up to university level in French and Spanish, as well as to adults who are learning the languages for the first time.
