I have an MSc in Mathematics and am a former Head of Department at a high achieving grammar school. I have been teaching & tutoring students for over 20 years and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in GCSE, A-Level, and degree-level Mathematics. I am also an Examiner and Assessor for multiple exam boards (notably Edexcel, AQA, OCR, and Cambridge International), which gives me a unique perspective on how to optimise exam performance and maximise student grades.

The best part of my job is making Mathematics accessible and enjoyable to my students – I have worked with 1000s of students at both comprehensive & grammar schools with a range of abilities and aptitudes. The greatest reward and gratification I receive is when student meets and surpasses their potential, and I can help them progress to the next stage of their academic lives. Before becoming a teacher (2004), I started as a management trainee at a large multinational corporation (10 years) and then worked as a senior analyst programmer specialising in banking software (5 years).

Available 07:00 - 22:00 (Monday - Sunday)

KS3 Maths (Y7 & Y8) - £50 per hour
GCSE Maths (Y9 & Y10 & Y11) - £60 per hour
GCSE Maths with Further Maths - £70 per hour
A-Level Maths - £75 per hour
A-Level Maths with Further Maths - £90 per hour
Degree-Level Maths - £120 per hour

Tutoring Approach

I plan tutoring sessions according to the individual needs of each student. Whilst delivering lessons, I ensure that students grasp the basic concepts and can successfully & independently apply them in examination settings. As an Examiner and Assessor for multiple exam boards, I remain constantly updated on changes in exam specifications, styles of assessment, and grade boundaries, which gives me a unique perspective on how to optimise exam performance and maximise student grades. GCSE & A-Level examinations have changed drastically in recent years, becoming considerably more demanding and difficult to achieve top grades. Maths & Further Maths have always been challenging subjects, but my personalised tutoring sessions will help students allocate their time effectively and efficiently to focus on high-yield content and ensure they are adequately prepared to achieve the best possible grades.
