Hi there!
I am currently studying for my PhD (DPhil) in Atomic and Laser Physics at the University of Oxford. In my research, I focus on AI for scientific discovery in Quantum Mechanics.
I love to teach and have been doing so for the last couple of years, particularly in Maths & Physics. My goal is to convey my excitement for these subjects and make them accessible to children who struggle with them in school.
Originally, I am from Germany, and German is my first language, but I have been living in the UK for a while now.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching multiple students (aged 11-18) in the fields of Maths and Physics for several years now. I am doing so with great success! None of my students have failed an exam since, and one even went from failing a mathematics class to studying engineering at university!
Regarding the German classes, thus far, I have only taught refugee groups and my own English cousins. However, being a native speaker, I have no difficulty in conveying German language concepts and cultural context.

Tutoring Approach

All of my teaching in Maths & Physics was conducted online, so I am well-versed in remote sessions and have a solid framework for making them effective. My approach is straightforward: grasp the student's needs, explain the fundamental concepts, and then emphasize practice, practice, practice! Mastering Maths isn't just about comprehension; it's also about establishing a routine on how to solve problems.

Regarding German classes, my approach varies depending on the student's proficiency level. I prefer direct immersion in the language through text, audio, video, or ideally, direct conversation. For beginners, I prioritise addressing grammatical and vocabulary requirements initially, of course.
