I am an English Teacher (former Head of Department) with over twenty five years experience. I have an English MA from the University of Newcastle. I have taught all of the GCSE and IGCSE exam boards: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Cambridge, WJEC...
I have been recognised as an 'outstanding' teacher by OFSTED and have had a wide experience of working in a range of different schools. I am currently an examiner for AQA at GCSE English Language and Literature. I have also been an examiner for 'A' Level Literature and SATs exams. During my successful career I have had the following positions:
-Head of English
-Head of KS3 English
-Head of Media Studies
-Head of Film Studies
I have been a middle leader for thirteen years and believe the individualised learning programmes I have for students has led to outstanding results. My lessons are 'chunked' into small parts in order to keep the lesson flowing and fun.

Tutoring Experience
I have been teaching online for a number of years and have a 100% success rate - every student has attained or exceeded their GCSE or 'A' Level set targets (see my feedback regarding success). I have also helped a number of students with their entrance exams.
Tutoring Approach
I see tutoring as a chance to build upon the cornerstones of learning in order for students to achieve their target goals. I believe 1:1 sessions should be fun and enjoyable. I shall assess the student and then with that student set out our joint aims and targets for the period of study. Mini targets will be set in order for myself, students and parents to see the progress achieved over a period of time.
I give regular feedback to parents and keep them informed of all progress made.
