Experienced tutor and therapeutic practitioner that is engaging and focused on helping young people reach their full potential.
I am an Assistant Educational Psychologist with hands-on experience in a wide range of therapeutic interventions, assessments, and learning strategies to support students with diverse needs. I have previously trained both teachers and parents who were facing challenges related to children’s learning and behaviour, equipping them with the tools necessary to foster meaningful progress.
In a prior role as an Assistant SENCo, I led learning support for students with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and medical conditions. I was responsible for designing provision maps and individualized learning plans tailored to address specific challenges. I also facilitated targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, social skills, and mental health.
Beyond my school-based roles, I have two years of experience as an SEN/SEMH tutor, delivering one-to-one and group sessions in English and Maths, as well as communication, interaction, and life skills. I have supported students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and complex medical needs.
My expertise also includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), counselling, third-wave psychological interventions, and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) tutoring. I have trained in a private clinic and provided therapy to young people experiencing anxiety, depression, and anger management difficulties. Additionally, I have worked within the NHS Neurodevelopmental Department.
These experiences have given me a deep understanding of behaviour, emotional resilience, and effective learning strategies. I am committed to providing every student with tailored, psychologically informed support to help them thrive.
I believe that learning should be engaging, peaceful, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. My approach prioritises individualised, interest-based learning, ensuring that lessons are meaningful, relatable, and paced appropriately to foster confidence and progress.
I incorporate diverse teaching methods to enhance cognitive processing and retention, making learning both dynamic and effective. Beyond academics, I integrate psychological strategies—including elements of behaviour management—to help students develop their executive functioning skills, self-expression, resilience, and communication skills.
Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where students feel understood, motivated, and empowered to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
