I am a Masters Poetry student currently studying at Newcastle University. I am a patient, enthusiastic, and creative tutor for English literature, creative writing, and general English. I love tailoring my lessons to each of my students' interests to ensure that we can have the most productive and engaging time together.
I am truly passionate about teaching English - I want to encourage a love for reading and writing in as many young people as I can, even going so far as giving them books from my own personal collection. I began tutoring after helping out some of my friends during my A-Levels, and discovering that I enjoyed teaching others far more than simply learning the content for myself!

Tutoring Experience

I have been a tutor, on and off, for the past 4.5 years, and have loved every single lesson. The majority of my students in the past began with only apathy towards the subject, but by the end of our time together I had helped them to discover their own passion, creativity, and imagination. One of my students even went on to do English Literature as one of his A-Level subjects. I particularly enjoyed my lessons with him, as I focused my lessons around an old murder mystery, that really helped to break him out of the age-old assumption that all English has to offer is the likes of Dickens or Shakespeare.

Tutoring Approach

Once we have established that I am the right tutor for you, I will tailor my lessons to your school's curriculum as well as your own aims for our sessions. My main focus is making lessons appealing to YOU so I can create lessons inspired by your favourite topics/books/films/music etc.

I'm happy to help with homework assignments, revision plans ahead of exam season, essay writing, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
