Hello,

I am a 27 y/o English teacher with four years of experience teaching KS3, GCSE, A-Level and IB. With the move to online teaching, I am ina position to take on new tutees.

I am based in London but currently offering flexible online tutoring to any location.

I am an organised, enthusiastic and tech-literature person with a great deal of teaching experience.

My indoor interests include reading (of course), film, theatre, and games. My outdoor interests include walking, cycling, camping, and wild swimming. I am an energetic person and bring this to my teaching.

I am looking forward to hearing from you

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English Year 7-13 for four years in an academically high-achieving school in London.

I have direct experience teaching the following GCSE and A-Level boards:
Cambridge International (CIE)
AQA
Edexcel
Eduquas
OCR

I also have a professional qualification in Land and Lit A for the International Baccalaureate.

I have experience stretching high achieving pupils as well as supporting those with less confidence in the subject. I have worked with a range of SEN needs, especially dyslexia and am a firm advocate that a learning need does not equal disadvantage, it simply means the subject needs to be accessed another way.

Tutoring Approach

I take a student-centered approach to teaching, tailoring my teaching to the strengths and needs of the student.

I believe that success breeds success, and always work to build up a series of mini successes so a student can track and reflect on how their effort produces progress in their work.

I believe study should be fun and rewarding. This means finding whatever it is that is going to interest and inspire a pupils to learn and embedding that in the teaching, making links to relatable parts of life to make literature and language accessible.

Finally, I believe that a teacher should lead by example, sharing their enthusiasm and getting involved in the activities with the students.
