I am a passionate and experienced Secondary School / College / University Computer Science and IT teacher with over 28 years in education, committed to helping students of all backgrounds succeed. Whether working with learners in mainstream schools, alternative education, SEN, EAL, or those learning from home, I provide a supportive, inclusive, and effective learning experience.

I’ve been honoured with a ‘Best Teacher Award’, and many of my GCSE students have exceeded their FFT target grades by one or two levels.
Throughout my career, I have taught GCSE and A-Level Computer Science (OCR & AQA) as well as Cambridge Technicals in IT. Alongside my teaching, I regularly contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, evaluation, and the creation of high-quality teaching resources and handouts.
My expertise spans a wide range of technical and programming skills, including:
• Languages: Java (OOP), Python, C++, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, HTML/CSS
• Software/Tools: Scratch, Alice
I also have strong experience with both formative and summative assessments, and my pastoral responsibilities have allowed me to support students' growth far beyond the classroom, building confidence, improving time management, and developing effective study habits.
My tutoring is personalised, structured, and goal-oriented, tailored to each student's learning style, ability, and academic targets. I believe in building a strong rapport with my learners and creating a positive, encouraging environment where they feel confident and supported.
Here’s what you can expect from working with me:
• Lesson summaries and reminders
• Verbal and written feedback
• Exam coaching and revision strategies
• Study skills and time management support
• Ongoing email correspondence and pastoral support
I use a digital whiteboard and visualiser setup to mirror the classroom experience, along with custom slides, diagrams, and curated materials. Lessons are planned in advance and tailored to your specific curriculum (including up-to-date exam board guidance) to ensure no surprises at exam time.
My aim is simple: to boost subject knowledge, exam readiness, and most importantly, confidence.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have and I would be happy to discuss my potential suitability.
