Online Maths and Physics Tutoring

I am a current year 13 student, and I will begin studying medicine from September 2021. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and have been doing so for 6 years now in predominantly maths, biology, chemistry, physics, but I have also taught humanities and foreign languages.

Tutoring Experience

For the past 6 years, I have mentored at tutored people in maths, biology, chemistry, physics, history, religious studies, French and Spanish. I have taught a wide range of ages and have been able to explore different techniques with different students. As a dyslexic student myself, I can appreciate the importance of encouragement and variety when teaching.

Tutoring Approach

I believe no student is inherently incapable and the most important part of teaching is to find a method that works for the student. In addition, I believe focusing on students' strengths can be just as important as focusing on their weaknesses. I value mindset coaching and the power of 'yet'. It is important to remind students, when they miss their goals, that they have not reached them 'yet' and that there is always room to grow. Moreover, I encourage making mistakes and failing at things because, this is how students can learn and grow. Failure is not permanent, it is the 'first attempt in learning' and gives us an opportunity to review what works well and what areas need improvement.
