Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching maths involves making complex mathematical topics more relatable and accessible to students so that mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques become more intuitive. My teaching style incorporates helping students discover their unique learning styles to encourage confident and independent learners who excel in their exams. I have a proven track record of success, with 100% of GCSE, A-level and IB students achieving an improvement of 1-3 grades under my guidance. Notably, during the 2020-2021 academic year, one student improved by 4 grades, transforming a predicted grade of an E into an impressive A in their maths A-levels.

Typically, the first lesson is dedicated to identifying the student's strengths and challenges in the subject. This allows me to personalise my approach to meet their specific needs. As we progress, students gain a deeper understanding of the material and develop rules or algorithms that they can confidently apply to problem-solving. I believe that we all have unique learning styles, and I am passionate about helping students use theirs to excel in math.
