Recently retired maths teacher after two stints as Head of Maths at a large school in Staffordshire, De Ferrers Academy (2013-2017) and Paget High School (2017-2022)
As above plus 2005-2012 as a full time maths teacher including two years as assistant gifted and talented leader and 4 years as Key Stage 4 Leader.
In both schools, the GCSE results reached record levels whilst head of faculty.
Very much based on Rosenshine and zone of proximal development. I do not believe that there is a “set syllabus” for each year, rather the syllabus should be set depending on what is the student’s level of understanding and work from there.
