Hello! My name is Andy and I am based in London but originally from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
I'm a huge sports fan with a particular love for American Football. Alongside my work in education, I am a theatre director and writer with a particular interest in developing new musical theatre.
I specialise in humanities-based coaching for years 7 to 13. This includes English, History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.
Having graduated from the University of York in 2015 with a degree in English and Philosophy, I have since coached over 200 students. I received full marks at English A-Level, and my GCSE English paper was used by AQA as an exemplar A*/9 paper.
In 2017, I joined Elevate Education as one of their study skills coaches and recently ranked as their number 1 UK diagnostic consultant. For Elevate I have also created and delivered their inaugural English-based online tutoring programmes for Years 9, 10, and 11, and launched their ‘Connect’ program: a series of lectures focussing on exam prep for GCSE English, which I delivered to Year 11 students around the country.
It’s vital to me that every student feels like they are receiving bespoke coaching based on their needs, interests and personality.
Alongside my work in education, I have worked as a theatre director and drama facilitator for 15 years with companies such as the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, Vienna State Opera, York Theatre Royal, and Curve Theatre. I bring a lot of what I've learnt from drama facilitation into my coaching style and exercises.
