Online Tuition for Maths and Chemistry

I have a strong scientific and mathematical background, having gained my 1st class degree in BioSciences (Biology and BioChemistry) in 2010 and working in the pharmaceutical sciences at world-class companies such as Pfizer, where I was a Senior Scientist. I have industry-leading knowledge of Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry and Mathematics. I haven't only learnt these subjects - I have proven my capabilities in the industries using these subjects to a senior level at world-class institutions. I also recently received a distinction in Data Analysis and Data Science at Cambridge Spark, which heavily relies on Maths, Statistics, Logic and Programming languages.

I tutor Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Combined Sciences. I am also happy to tutor coding - though the platform doesn't have it as a selection.

Tutoring Experience

Through my work I performed a lot of mentoring of junior scientists. A lot of family and friends have also utilised my skills for their children who have all received top marks. Known as "The stats guy" I tutored/coached a friend through their University dissertation to help them grasp the maths, stats and biology of their data. They achieved an 85% 1st class on this work and was commended on "professional level use of statistics".

Tutoring Approach

My approach varies for the student - we all learn differently!

Some people need strict routine and delivery, while others need more space and time to process their thoughts. I have mentored/coached a lot of different learners and I tailor the tutoring to what works best.

My "default" (first instinct) is to gauge current level, and identify weak spots and then try to build upon what they know in a logical and methodical way so there are no learning curve spikes. This would involve a lot of practise questions and quizzing. Ultimately exams are the main carriers of grade, and getting everyone used to those formats is how the top grades are achieved.
