A special thank you to Andrew for teaching my daughter; she has received an A in biology.

From the first lesson, my daughter was impressed by Andrew's teaching, and I knew then that I had found one of the best in Biology. Andrew's teaching style was not exhausting and was to the point. Closer to the time, Andrew focused on exam-style questions and past papers and was very organized in lesson plans. Occasionally, when my daughter was not able to attend one or two lessons due to being ill, although Andrew had a completely booked schedule, he offered her alternative lessons, for which I'm very grateful.

I recommend Andrew for A-level Biology as he is among the best you could find for your daughter or son.

By the end of my son’s first year of A level studies he was feeling disillusioned with Biology. A year disrupted by Covid, a lack of rapport with his biology teacher and an end of year exam result of 18% prompted me to look for a tutor to help put him back on track. I arranged some online tutor sessions for him with Andrew in the summer holidays and although somewhat reluctant at first, he found Andrew’s method of teaching considerably more engaging than his college teacher and went back to college in September feeling far more confident in his biology lessons. He asked to continue weekly sessions with Andrew right through to his A level exams and entered the exam period feeling so much more confident than the previous year. Andrew really helped with exam technique providing exam papers, keeping my son focused on what he really needed to learn and understand and was always available to answer any questions or concerns. One to one tutoring with Andrew made such a difference. From such a low exam mark at the end of his first year of A level studies with a year of hard work and Andrew’s guidance my son was delighted to achieve an A* in his actual A level. Thank you Andrew for all your help, support and guidance.

My son had Andrew for A level Biology tutoring during his second year of his A levels studies. When he started with Andrew, he was really behind on his first year studies so Andrew spent time in each session not only recapping some of the year 1 syllabus but also focusing on the second year content in parallel which is really challenging for such a content heavy subject. My son has ADHD so really struggles with organisation and developing his own structured approach to study as well as becoming easily distracted in a normal college environment. He really enjoyed attending his sessions with Andrew as they were stimulating and kept him interested and on topic for the full session. Andrew is exceptionally well organised and also helped him with a well structured past paper revision timetable to keep him on track which really helped his personal revision. I cannot recommend Andrew highly enough, my son ended up achieving a B (only a couple of marks away from an A grade) whereas he was predicted a D. A brilliant tutor.

Andrew was a first class tutor for my daughter. He was highly organised, enthusiastic and skilled at explaining things. He checked the syllabus for the relevant exam board and clearly spent time preparing sessions and helping my daughter to learn things thoroughly. Holly really enjoyed working with Andrew; her confidence grew and she achieved an A in her biology a level as a result. We approached Andrew at the beginning of year 2 ‘A’ Level Biology with a poor predicted grade. Andrew regained my Son’s confidence and interest in Biology, revisiting year one topics whilst at the same time building year 2 knowledge through a comprehensive and and well structured work programme. The end results speak for themselves… predicted grade ‘E’ exam result ‘C’. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for Biology tuition. He tutored our daughter during her time at sixth form college and enabled her to get the grades she needed to follow her career choice at university. She looked forward to Andrew's sessions and found his explanations of sometimes complicated topics perfectly tailored to her way of working. The homework he set enhanced her learning and the feedback he gave was excellent. His reports to us as parents were also detailed and informative.

Andrew tutored my son for several months, helping him with his A level Biology. Although predicted an A grade at the start of the course he was not achieving this in his tests at college. Andrew came to the rescue and an A grade has been achieved :)
As a parent (and a teacher myself) I found Andrew to be one of the most professional tutors I have ever worked with. He is very friendly, prompt responding to messages, sends updates on progress and provides an excellent working environment at his home. My son really enjoyed the challenging sessions. Andrew was quick to identify gaps in my son's knowledge and gauge his strengths and weaknesses with respect to exam technique. The subsequent emphasis on exam questions and essay writing was found to be extremely useful by my son and his exam marks began to reflect his improved grasp of different types of questions.

We would thoroughly recommend Andrew! My daughter was struggling with Biology A level and averaging at a grade C/D at the beginning of her A2 year. By the end of the year's tutoring with him, she had achieved a grade A. Andrew took the time to establish exactly where my daughter's weaknesses lay and provided bespoke exam practice around those areas, which were also tailored to her ability. She returned from sessions each week encouraged and motivated, and this had a huge impact on her confidence. Andrew was my biology tutor from March for the run up to my A’levels. He was extremely helpful in teaching me the curriculum, where I had significant gaps. His teaching style was very interactive and engaging. As well as this, he ensured and encouraged me to continually question and apply my learning to a wide range of exam questions and situations. In addition he enabled me to use a revision method that ensured I could prepare for the exams, most effectively. With all Andrew’s help and positive support I felt much more able to tackle the exams. Andrew was really helpful in getting me ready for my A-level exams. He quickly got to know which topic areas and question styles I struggled most on and taught me a lot of useful techniques for working through them. His sessions are always well structured and he is very detailed and thorough when going through theory and exam questions, especially with regards to letting me know the wording and level of detail needed to gain marks. He knows the Eduqas specification well which was very useful during our sessions. The resources he provides have also been very beneficial to me, particularly since there are very few past papers available for the linear specification, thank you Andrew!

When my daughter began with Andrew she was on a D grade at A level and was feeling very demoralised. Since beginning the tutor sessions she has grown hugely in confidence and is now predicted a B which is the grade needed for the University course she is intending to study. Andrew has worked through past papers with her and has gone through topics where her knowledge wasn't at the level it should have been, but is very clearly there now. We would thoroughly recommend Andrew to others, he is an excellent tutor.

Andrew was very helpful.He had a very good knowledge of the topics I needed to cover,despite the fact I was studying a different exam board to the one he normally taught.The learning environment and equipment was really good.The exam preparation with practicing past papers was also extremely helpful.

I found Andrew really helpful with last minute preparation for my exams. His sessions were very organised and he used his interactive whiteboard to teach which i really liked and he was good a keeping in touch in between sessions. Ive felt much more prepared for my exams and after doing my exams i realised how useful my sessions with Andrew were.
