I work full-time as a Civil Engineer with 4 years private and group tutoring experience specialising in Maths. As a current private home tutor, I confidently break down maths concepts into easier and digestible content to help students to understand Maths in a more fun and informative way! I have a highly academic background and work to encourage students to appreciate their studies and develop their knowledge outside of a school classroom.

My qualifications include an obtained degree in MEng Civil Engineering; a maths-oriented course heavily based on fundamental maths and engineering concepts and applying it to real-world problems.

I am a DBS checked STEM (Sciene, Technology, Engineering and Maths) ambassador who works with students in schools delivering presentations, workshops and interview preparation.

Tutoring Experience

Previous tutoring experience up to GCSE level in English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and 11+ exam preparation. One-to-one private tutoring and group tutoring at a tuition centre. Volunteered teaching assistant for for Year 7 class.

I currently have several long-time students for private home tutoring ranging from KS2 to GCSE level.

Additionally, I offer support in: revision techniques, exam writing techniques, personal statement writing, CV writing.

Tutoring Approach

My primary goal is to provide students with the confidence and encouragement to study independently as well as depedently in one-to-one lessons. A key focus on study techniques and different methods of learning is particularly advocated in lessons; study methods from workbook activities and question sheets to practical tasks and online educational games. I develop and structure lessons based upon individual needs and teaching styles will be tailored accordingly to suit the goals and development of each student.
