I am a current student at the University of Oxford studying French and Linguistics. I'm in my third year of my degree, so am currently on my year abroad living in France and working as an English teacher in a French primary school.
I have previously tutored for students of GCSE French and students taking the 11+. My current role is as a Language Assistant teaching English as a foreign language to primary school students in France. I have also worked as a tutor teaching English as a second language with the charity Jacari, as well as at a children's camp in Belarus.
I was sitting GCSEs and A Levels only a few years ago, so I remember how it feels to want to do well and be frustrated by not seeing marks added after hard work has been put in. For these exams, it is important to learn the content, but it is also crucially important to understand how the mark scheme is applied by the examiners. This is how to make sure you're getting the best results possible. I also loved studying French, English Language and English Literature from GCSE to A Level and believe that there is real interest to be found in these subjects when they are approached the right way, even if they are not current favourites.
