My name is Amy Removed. As well as my love for English and reading, I enjoy singing, taking my two dogs for walks and travelling.
I’ve been teaching eight years now and I love it as much now as I did all those years ago! I have a real passion for supporting students to become the best version of themselves and achieve in all areas of their education. I specialise in English Language resits as I have a 100% success rate and continue to mark forAQA’s English Language GCSE paper. As an examiner and teacher of English, I see, first hand, the difficulties, misconceptions and, most importantly, know how to support students to make good progress and reach their full potential. Over the last eight years, I’ve taught a range of students with SEND needs, specific difficulties in English, and EAL students, ranging from levels 1-9. As a previous assistant SENDCO and current assistant head of year, I’ve gained invaluable experience supporting students with their additional SEND and emotional needs; removing as many barriers as possible; enabling students to thrive. This, is what I believe, has kept me motivated and passionate to continue to teach and make a difference.
Although I have been teaching for eight years, my style is still fresh and creative, where possible. I continue to help students see the value of English, enjoy the subject and learn how every day life links to so many areas and lessons within the English curriculum. I will also help students to build their confidence and move away from prescriptive ideas/one definitive answer. My approach is varied based on individual student need such as: strengths, areas of development/focus, SEND, EAL, level and interests.
