Hello, my name is Amy and I have been a classroom primary school teacher for ten years in and around London. I have worked at a large variety of schools across all Key Stages. I am very passionate about inspiring children to achieve to the best of their ability through creative learning activities. I am currently in the process of moving to Cornwall with my partner where we are looking forward to living a more balanced lifestyle, with more time for my own own creative projects and spending time at the beach with my cockapoo Honey.
I qualified with a PGCE in 2021, working in Inner City London for my first four years. I then took a years break to teach English abroad and immerse myself in new cultures. I returned to Hertfordshire as a supply teacher experiencing a wide range of schools and Key Stages. My preferred Key Stage and most experience is in Early Years and Key Stage 1. My last job was at a school in St. Albans where I was Head of Key Stage 1, Head of Art and Design, Design and Technology and Phonics Lead. I have worked closely with children with additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Anxiety and Auditory Processing Disorder where I have supported them to achieve EIP's. I have outstanding observations in all areas of the curriculum.
I am very creative and enjoy inspiring children to achieve through creative learning. I very much believe that each child should be taught through an individual curiculum that best suits their personality and learning style. I am extremely aware of the pressures put on children to achieve and am very sensitive to the anxiety that this can cause. My goal for all the children that I work with is that they leave with a positive love for learning where they feel more inspired and confident in who they are as a person.
