I am a fully qualified psychology and biology teacher, head of department and experienced tutor. I have taught thousands of students and yet see each of them as unique. Tutoring is an honour.
I have taught for over a decade in the United Kingdom and led my psychology department to support a variety of students sitting psychology A level and Combined and separate science GCSE biology. I understand that there is a mass of information coming at you, both at GCSE and A level and it can feel overwhelming. There is a lot to learn in the brief time that you are studying. But there is light! As there are ways of learning about these subjects in a synoptic way, by pulling information across from different areas so that you can use what you already know and apply it to new concepts.
I am able to adjust explanations of the different topics for each student and pride myself on really getting students from confusion to confidence and being able to use content in a variety of ways so that they cover fewer things but write clearly and succinctly in order to demonstrate your understanding and get the marks.
It all depends on what the student needs and how the student works best! After working with you for a couple of sessions it would become clearer what the best approach is but tutoring is about supporting you to find the methods that work best for you individually. I prepare each session I teach individualised for the student I'm teaching, I don't teach general lessons.
