Maths Tuition in Ilford

I am a passionate teacher of Mathematics who believes every child can do well in Maths with right guidance. I use well-tailored approach to improve children’s relationships with Maths to help them develop confidence so they can enjoy the subject rather than fear it. Once the base is firm, there is no stopping as unlike other subjects Maths scores can be improved substantially with focussed teaching and learning. I am also doing part time Masters course in Mathematics Education from UCL which helps me to bring the latest research in learning and teaching to benefit my own students.

Tutoring Experience

I have been working as a Qualified Maths teacher and a private tutor since 2016. I have helped many students improve their broken relationships with Maths and develop enthusiasm and love for Maths learning. My students foremost enjoy Maths, gain confidence and their grades improve naturally. I have taught all exam boards successfully including Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is very student specific and targeted to their individual learning needs. I test my students regularly normally after each unit to identify their weak areas and ensure that their gaps are filled before moving on. Parents are kept well informed about the test scores and how their child is doing in general. Each student is different and the hour is focussed on addressing their misconceptions, learning from mistakes and refining their skills. There is a regular weekly homework given and parents are kept in the loop. The next lesson begins with going over the mistakes and reasoning involved in identifying and correcting the mistakes from the homework so these can be avoided in future. Students work through range of topics that build on each other, which helps them to develop confidence and exceed expectations over time. Students are taught how to check their answers and other exam techniques alongside so they know clearly what will get them marks in the exam.
