I am a secondary teacher in Fife and I teach chemistry and science. I completed my PGDE in 2018 and I am currently in my third year of teaching. Prior to this I completed my honours degree in chemistry and worked as a chemist for over a year after university. I try to bring in my real-life experience when teaching since this is what people find the most relevant.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching National 5 for the full 3 years that I have been teaching. I have many resources (PowerPoints, worksheets, activities) that I can use to help with learning and these can be adapted where appropriate, and new resources produced for specific areas of difficulty. I have tutored in the past and have a well-mannered approach.

Tutoring Approach

I have an approach where I make or amend resources depending on the people I have in front of me. I am well mannered/calm and I am happy to spend time working on a particular topic for some time if that is what is required (rather than working through the whole course in a short space of time).

When tutoring online, I am able to provide different types of resources (PowerPoints, worksheets etc.) and I am able to work through different problems using whiteboards (or technology).
