Alison
I have 38 years experience in mathematics teaching and school leadership. Throughout this time I have never lost my love of mathematics and of teaching it. I have successfully taught all aspects of A Level mathematics and Further mathematics as well as all GCSE tiers. I have also examined GCSE and A Level mathematics for AQA and I am currently an examiner for Edexcel mathematics. My own family have now grown up and I have two grandchildren. I now have the time to help students on an individual basis.
Tutoring Experience
I have vast experience of teaching at secondary level. I have successfully taught both Foundation and Higher level GCSE with excellent results. I have also taught A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics throughout my career. I am experienced in all A Level courses but I particularly enjoy Pure Mathematics(Core Mathematics) and Mechanics. I am also an experienced tutor and have examined at both GCSE and A Level.
Tutoring Approach
I offer confident and patient support to enable my students to fully understand the mathematical concepts and be able to apply them successfully. I will aim to make the sessions useful, beneficial and enjoyable. For students about to sit examinations I will ensure they have significant examination practice, sharing my knowledge from an examiners perception, to allow them to sit their examination with confidence. Please note the charge for Further Maths tuition is £50 ph.
