I am a highly qualified and friendly tutor, holding a Bachelor's degree and a Master’s in Education and Innovation. With a background as an international IB PYP Early Years educator, I bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Over the last 10 years, I have primarily worked with young learners, ranging from pre-school to key stage 2.
Throughout my time as an educator, I've dedicated significant attention to supporting students with special educational needs and behaviour concerns. I am a lifelong learner who continually seeks to improve my knowledge and skills by actively participating in specialized training, particularly in areas such as phonics, literacy, and numeracy. My commitment to professional growth extends to official IB training courses, enabling me to comprehend and engage with each child's unique learning style effectively.
My passion lies in prioritizing students' wellbeing and promoting their emotional and social development. I firmly believe in cultivating strong relationships with children to boost their motivation and enthusiasm for learning.
For the last 10 years I have worked in the education sector, serving as a teacher, learning coach, and specialist in special educational needs. I have also worked as an online tutor during which time I have been commended for my proficiency in simplifying complex texts, ensuring they are easily understood, engaging, and manageable for students.
The students whom I have worked with make great gains in their reading proficiency, school assessments, and, most importantly, they have developed a genuine enjoyment for learning.
In my capacity as an English and Math tutor, I take the time to assess each student, as well as learn their interests, strengths, and concerns. This understanding enables me to tailor my teaching approach to cater to each student's unique needs. I employ diverse learning methods within the lessons, such as interactive activities, writing tasks, games, and reading exercises, in an engaging and enjoyable manner.
During the lessons, I prioritize establishing a good connection with my students, fostering a sense of trust and bolstering their self-confidence. This empowerment equips them with the capabilities required for success. Through thoughtfully crafted inquiries throughout the sessions, I guide them to realize their own problem-solving abilities. As students recognize and embrace their full potential, a transformative shift occurs, motivating them to excel independently, without fear of taking risk.
